Bio: Although he initially studied Law, Bonnard enrolled at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in 1889. it was there he won a competition to design the France-Champagne poster. His first one-man show was with Durand-Ruel in 1896. During 1905 - 1913 he traveled extensively in Europe.
Bonnard is best known for his paintings of interiors in the
impressionist style. He was however a very accomplished draughtsman and produced many lithographs and drawings.
In 1918, along with Monet, he was made president of honour of the Groupement de la Jeune Peinture francais.
